Srinagar, April 21, 2018 (KNO) : Chairman of Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani, Saturday expressed his concern over the fresh crackdown on youth and nocturnal raids by government forces in Kashmir, saying that police authorities are unleashing reign of terror over innocent civilians.

It is highly condemnable, said he and while lamenting at authorities, added that in a desperate move to gain favors from their higher ups they are surpassing all limits to prove themselves as more loyal than king. Strongly condemning the “police actions, use of excessive and unjustified force, Geelani said that the reign of terror unleashed against people won’t help, instead it will infuse and rejuvenate more spirits. Geelani condemned the night raids being conducted by the security agencies and said innocent youths were arrested from Pulwama, Koil Seran, Spore, Baramulla and were dragged out of their houses, frisked and arrested,” the statement added.

Geelani said that our youth are being arrested, caged and subjected to extreme physical torture and are being pushed to the wall and consequently there exists no option than to consider other opportunities to give vent to their sentiments. Commenting over the charge sheet filed by NIA against Shahid Yusuf, Geelani said that he is being implicated on fake grounds for being son of Hizb chief Syed Salah u Din. It is sheer injustice and added that Shahid Yusuf has not committed any offence, however he is being subjected to vengeance because his father is leading armed struggle. Present era is comparatively favoring free thinking, civilized and rational approach, however contrary to this, we are reeling under lawless situations where people, resistance leadership, members of traders’ community and even employees are being caged and put behind bars, Geelani said.

Syed Ali Geelani asked New Delhi to shun their egoistic, fanatical politics and heartless approach and show wisdom and acknowledge the ground realities of the long-pending Jammu and Kashmir dispute and asked to resolve issue seeking aspirations of people. Let India take initiative and honour opinion of its people as they are craving for its honorable solution and acknowledge all its pledges with regards to resolution of Kashmir issue, said Syed Ali Geelani, saying India should shun its barbaric approach ,caging our youth and leadership in Tihar and other jail as all these unprincipled steps can never deter us from pursuing our cherished mission, he added .

Srinagar, April 21, 2018 (KNO) : Chairman of Hurriyat Syed Ali Geelani, paying tributes to Yunis Maqbool & Mohd Yasin Yatoo on their martyrdom anniversary, said that those who lay their lives for a sacred cause, are alive with their Lord and receive sustenance from Him.’’

Syed Ali Geelani said that we should not barter these sacrifices against Sadak Pani and Bijli, as all those serving interests of India are acting simply as stooges and facilitating bloodshed in state. Mohammad Yasin Atai, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Tashoq Ahmad Bandey, Mudasir Nadvi, Imtiyaz Hyder and Habib Ullah Yatoo were among those participated in Fateh Khawni for martyrs.
